FAQ
This is one of the most common questions. Technically, the mask does not change the partial pressure of oxygen in the air (it does not create "thin air" as at 3,000 meters), but rather acts as a respiratory muscle training (RMT) device.
By limiting airflow, you force your diaphragm and intercostal muscles to work harder. It is, literally, "weights for your lungs." The result is that when you remove the mask in competition, your respiratory system is much more efficient, processing oxygen with less effort and delaying the onset of fatigue.
Physiological adaptation varies from athlete to athlete, but most of our users report a noticeable improvement in their lung capacity after 2 to 3 weeks of consistent use (2-3 sessions per week).
The first thing you'll notice is not only that you can last longer, but also an increased CO2 tolerance and faster recovery between high-intensity sets. By strengthening the muscles involved in breathing, the "oxygen cost" of breathing decreases, allowing your body to send more fuel to your legs and arms during maximum exertion.
Training with the Restyng Mask is completely safe as long as a progression principle is followed. Our mask features adjustable flow valves that allow you to customize the resistance.
We recommend starting with the lowest level during moderate-intensity exercises to familiarize yourself with the sensation. The goal is not to suffocate, but to add controlled resistance. If you are a beginner, start by using it during your warm-up or during light cardio sessions. Note: If you have pre-existing respiratory or cardiac conditions, we always recommend consulting with a professional before adding this type of resistance to your routine.
Although very popular in the world of running and cycling, the Restyng Mask is a versatile tool designed for any discipline that demands high cardiovascular performance.
It is especially effective in:
CrossFit and HIIT: Where breath management is key to avoid "burning out" mid-WOD.
Martial Arts (MMA, BJJ): Helps simulate difficulty breathing under pressure or extreme fatigue.
Strength Training: Improves core control and abdominal breathing during heavy lifts.
Basically, if your sport makes you gasp, this mask will help you master that feeling.
